Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences or related field preferred.
• Three years of experience in a correctional setting with supervisory responsibilities.
• Mature, flexible, mentally alert with ability to manage stress.

Responsibilities

• Supervises security and staff to coordinate inmate supervision and safety; prepares records.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures for custody, security and treatment of detainees.
• Responds to major incidents; provides prompt assistance to detainees/inmates in injury or distress.
• Directs work, hires, trains, evaluates performance, and handles disciplinary actions.
• Directs work and ensures procedures are trained and followed; maintains daily logs.
• Maintains facility compliance with rules and regulations; performs other duties as assigned.
