Curriculum Manager

Mission:

The mission of the Middle School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The role involves executing a curriculum implementation support system to enhance teacher effectiveness and student success, including site visits, providing feedback, designing professional development, and reporting on student progress.

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas, preferably in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, or Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or candidates willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While primarily remote, the role requires in-person meetings, campus visits, and travel up to 30% during peak times.

Responsibilities:

1. Create and refine curriculum products to meet student achievement goals.
2. Design and post curriculum materials according to deadlines.
3. Align instructional materials with standards and create scope and sequence.
4. Develop teacher and student-facing instructional resources.
5. Design and upload assessments and supporting documents.
6. Create tools to analyze assessment data to inform instruction.
7. Conduct assessment data analyses for curricular and instructional guidance.
8. Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders, including training and professional development.
9. Lead content or grade-level professional development sessions.
10. Analyze student achievement data and recommend adjustments.
11. Conduct campus observations and provide feedback on curriculum implementation.
12. Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate across teams.

Additional Duties:

Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficiency in curriculum design, standards alignment, and assessment development.
• Deep understanding of state and national standards.
• Research-driven approach to curriculum development.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Teacher certification required.
• At least five years of relevant teaching experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology.

Preferred Experience:

• Track record of student achievement and curriculum development.
• Experience designing assessments and system-wide curriculum products.
• Facilitation and leadership in professional development.
• Leadership experience in managing teams or projects.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, observations, and conferences.
