Curriculum Manager

Mission:

The mission of the Middle School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. The Curriculum Manager will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. The Curriculum Manager will support, monitor, and evaluate curriculum implementation by conducting site visits, providing feedback related to the delivery of the curriculum to relevant stakeholders, designing and facilitating professional development, seeking feedback on the curriculum, and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas, with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While this is a remote position, there will be in-person meetings and events. Traveling to visit campuses will also be an expectation in this role. Candidates may be required to travel up to 30% during the busiest times of the year.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

Essential Duties:

  1. Create, revise, and refine a suite of curriculum products, including scope and sequences and instructional resources, to achieve student achievement goals.
  2. Design and post complete curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  3. Align instructional materials to state/national standards, creating scope and sequence, and ensuring clear articulation between the program and required course content for courses using high-quality instructional materials.
  4. Develop instructional products including teacher-facing resources (scope and sequence, lesson plans, instructional notes) and student-facing materials that ensure alignment to standards and provide a rigorous academic experience.
  5. Design & develop reliable, aligned assessments and supporting documents, upload to testing platforms, and ensure they meet deadlines.
  6. Create and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned assessments, and make them accessible by the deadlines.
  7. Develop tools to analyze assessment data for stakeholders to inform instruction.
  8. Conduct assessment data analyses to guide curricular and instructional decisions.
  9. Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders in their activities, including designing and delivering district trainings to improve instructional practices.
  10. Recruit and develop Course Leaders for managed content areas.
  11. Mentor and coach Course Leaders and ensure role compliance.
  12. Provide training to Course Leaders and facilitate ongoing professional development.
  13. Design and lead district-wide professional development sessions and trainings.
  14. Analyze student achievement data, identify trends, and recommend adjustments to support curriculum implementation and increase student performance.
  15. Share data insights with stakeholders and conduct campus observations to provide feedback on curriculum implementation.
  16. Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate across teams.
  17. Travel as needed for site visits, meetings, and workshops.

Knowledge and Skills – Competencies

  1. Proficiency in curriculum design, development, and research-based practices.
  2. Deep understanding of state and national standards.
  3. Experience with assessments and curriculum evaluation.
  4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively and treat others with respect.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in relevant content area and assessments.
  • Educator certification required.
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience in the relevant content area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, educational technology, and learning management systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven track record of student achievement as a teacher or leader.
  • Experience in curriculum writing and assessment design.
  • Experience facilitating professional development.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or projects related to curriculum development.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings, observations, and conferences.

What We Offer:

Compensation & Benefits: Salaries typically range from $81,800 to $95,800, commensurate with experience, with performance-based pay eligibility. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, parental benefits, flexible spending, vacation, referral bonuses, professional development, and a 403(b) plan.
