Job description

Curriculum Manager

Mission:

The mission of the Middle School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Manager is to manage and support the successful implementation of the CTE curriculum at IDEA Public Schools. The Curriculum Manager will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, research-based, standards-aligned, and user-friendly curriculum. They will execute a curriculum implementation support system to drive teacher effectiveness and student success. Responsibilities include conducting site visits, providing feedback, designing and facilitating professional development, seeking feedback, and reporting on student progress and achievement.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Location:

This is a full-time position based in Texas, with preference for candidates residing in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or those willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

While primarily remote, in-person meetings and campus visits are expected. Travel may be up to 30% during peak times.

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

Essential Duties:

  • Create, revise, and refine curriculum products to meet student achievement goals.
  • Design and post curriculum materials according to deadlines.
  • Align instructional materials to standards, creating scope and sequence, and ensuring clear articulation.
  • Develop teacher-facing resources and student materials ensuring standards alignment and academic rigor.
  • Design, develop, and upload assessments and supporting documents.
  • Create and deliver high-quality assessments and supporting tools.
  • Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and support stakeholders.
  • Support, manage, and coach Course Leaders in content areas, including training and professional development.
  • Mentor and develop Course Leaders; provide ongoing training and coaching.
  • Lead district-wide professional development sessions and create schedules and logistics.
  • Analyze student achievement data, identify trends, and recommend adjustments.
  • Conduct campus observations, provide feedback, and collaborate with team members.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and collaborate across teams.
  • Travel for site visits and team workshops as needed.

Additional Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in curriculum design, standards, assessments, and research-based practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Teaching certification and at least five years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and educational technology.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven results in teaching, curriculum development, and professional development.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams or projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 20 pounds, and travel as required.

What We Offer:

Salary range: $81,800 - $95,800, commensurate with experience.
