GEO Reentry Services, LLC is hiring a full-time cook for a correctional/rehabilitation facility in New Mexico. Under general supervision, you will prepare a variety of foods using multiple cooking methods to meet the facility's needs.

The role requires adherence to safety and sanitation standards, staff training, ordering, inventory, and production-record maintenance. A high school diploma with food service experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant food service training and cooking experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of food preparation experience in a commercial/institutional setting.
• Ability to communicate production requirements to staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepares large quantities of meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups and vegetables.
• Uses various cooking methods and seasonings following approved preparation methods.
• Cooks according to the facility menu plan and maintains production records.
• Directs work and trains detainee food service staff.
• Conducts orientation and training for staff.
• Schedules and ensures quality of all foods and supplies.
• Places orders, checks deliveries and inventories.
• Ensures sanitation and safety practices are followed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
