Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a kitchen professional to manage large-scale food preparation for a correctional facility. You will cook according to the facility menu, ensure recipes meet population needs, and maintain accurate production records.

The role requires at least 2 years of quantity food production experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to train staff and communicate requirements clearly to all personnel. 21+ years of age preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• College credits or relevant technical training in food service or cooking is preferred.
• Minimum two years experience in quantity food production in commercial, military, or institutional settings.
• Prior cooking and correctional food service training is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to communicate production/service requirements to all personnel.

Responsibilities

• Cooks food as directed in the facility's operational menu plan.
• Ensures recipes are scaled to population requirements.
• Maintains production records.
• Directs and trains staff; oversees resident food service workers.
• Prepares schedules and ensures quality of foods and supplies.
• Places orders for food and supplies and handles deliveries/stock counts.
• Ensures sanitation and safety programs are followed.
