Job summary

Verizon seeks a Distinguished Engineer to define the technical trajectory for the Hyperscaler Segment, serving as the primary technical interface for major accounts (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta).

You will bridge Product, Legal, Pricing, and Delivery to orchestrate monumental deals, including Ultra Long Haul Dark Fiber and ILA infrastructure, while mentoring the technical talent pipeline and driving AI-enabled route assessments.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in Sales Engineering or Network Architecture.
• Certification: Advanced networking certifications (e.g., Juniper Pro, BGP, or similar).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Track Record: Revenue attainment and account strategy with complex RFP responses.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Technical Leadership: architect long-term network solutions and drive cross-functional teams to close deals.
• Infrastructure & Process Innovation: document SOPs, improve processes, and leverage AI for faster responses.
• Technical Pipeline Development: mentor talent within the Principal Sales Engineering organization.
• Customer & Operational Excellence: CTO-ready engagement and strategic alignment for AI Dark Fiber initiatives.
• Top Industry leading Accounts Support: Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft.
• Revenue Support: support over $1 Billion in revenue with bookings target over $250 Million.
