Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to define the technical trajectory for our Hyperscaler segment. You will serve as the primary technical interface for complex account relationships with major hyperscalers, bridging Product, Legal, Pricing and Delivery to orchestrate multi-faceted deals.

This CTO-ready role leads strategic discussions to architect high-capacity Dark Fiber networks, mentors the tech sales team, and drives AI-driven automation to speed responses and outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Sales Engineering or Network Architecture focused on Hyperscaler or complex Enterprise accounts.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Advanced networking certifications (e.g., Juniper Pro, BGP) and track record of revenue attainment.
• Experience leveraging GenAI and data analysis for route assessments and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Engage in CTO-level strategic discussions to architect long-term, high-capacity network infrastructure (Dark Fiber, ILA, Private Wireless).
• Lead cross-functional tiger teams to navigate complex obstacles involving GCNE, Legal, Pricing, and Product to facilitate deal closure and implementation.
• Document standard operating procedures for products lacking documentation within Dark Fiber and complex Lit network space.
• Drive systemic process improvements (DLM, EMR) to streamline internal initiatives.
• Mentor and develop the technical talent pipeline within the Principal Sales Engineering organization.
• Perform at a CTO Ready level, drive strategy around AI Connect specifically Dark Fiber both Metro and ULH with ILA, manage high-stakes RFPs.
• Maintain deep expertise in internal inventory and mapping tools (NIDR, Salesforce) for real-time feasibility analysis.
