Job summary

Alamance-Burlington Schools Career & Technical Education in Burlington, NC seeks a Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator to design and manage a district-wide continuum of WBL experiences that connect students to meaningful employer partnerships and real-world career opportunities. This role collaborates with CDCs, CTE teachers, and partners to align placements with student career plans.

The coordinator travels to partner sites, fosters employer relationships, and ensures WBL programs meet state

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; background in Career and Technical Education, school counseling, or career counseling preferred.
Experience planning and coordinating work-based learning programs (internships, job shadowing, apprenticeships) preferred.
Experience building and maintaining partnerships with employers, businesses, and community organizations.

Responsibilities

Identify, develop, and maintain a district-wide continuum of work-based learning opportunities including job shadowing, internships, cooperative education, and apprenticeships.
Work with CDCs and CTE teachers to identify students ready for WBL experiences and connect them to appropriate placement opportunities aligned with their CTE pathway and career plan.
Ensure all WBL placements meet North Carolina state requirements and federal Perkins V compliance standards.
Maintain employer-level and program-level documentation including partnership agreements, training plans, and WBL opportunity records.
Plan and coordinate district-level career-connected events including career fairs, employer site visits, job shadow days, and industry panels.
