Job summary

Wellstar seeks a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality CT imaging and provide a supportive patient experience at Columbia County Medical Center Hospital. You will work within a collaborative care team, ensure patient safety, and follow ALARA principles while maintaining accurate documentation in RIS/PACS.

The role requires a Radiologic Technology program completion, ARRT credentials (Radiography and CT), and at least 1 year in radiology, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography)
• ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, capture high-quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently, maintaining ALARA and adjusting techniques for diagnostic quality.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock rooms per infection control schedules; report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and two patient identifiers before exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and finalize in RIS/PACS.
• Complete accurate documentation and ensure studies are finalized in RIS/PACS.
