Job summary

Wellstar invites applications for a CT Technologist at Columbia County Medical Center Hospital in Georgia. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience, while collaborating with a clinical team of radiology professionals.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in radiology, completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, BLS required

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA).
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam; obtain clinical history.
• Explain procedures and post-care using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Administer contrast per protocol; use venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly; apply markers, shielding, and immobilization.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and communicate results.
• Document accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals as needed.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, restock life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes; support department flow.
• Maintain compliance, keep areas orderly, and escalate issues as needed.
