Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging at Columbia County Medical Center Hospital. You will work within a collaborative care team, ensuring patient safety and a positive experience while applying ALARA principles.

The role requires ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, a radiologic technology education, and a focus on compassionate patient care within a busy imaging department in Georgia.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology is preferred.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification is required.
• ARRT-CT certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture high-quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain ALARA dose.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders with two patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and age-appropriate care.
• Administer contrast per protocol and use venipuncture/sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and reimage if needed.
• Document accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retrievals.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department flow.
• Maintain compliance and escalate issues to supervisor.
