Job summary

Wellstar in Georgia seeks a CT Technologist at Columbia County Medical Center Hospital to deliver safe, high-quality CT imaging and support a positive patient experience. Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed Radiologic Technology program from an accredited school.
• Certification: ARRT-R (Radiography).
• Certification: ARRT-CT.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines to obtain high-quality diagnostic images (ALARA).
• Operate imaging equipment safely and independently, adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders and patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy and safety; provide age-appropriate care during visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast using venipuncture and sterile techniques as applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as needed.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and reimage if required; finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition; respond to emergencies and assist with life-support equipment as needed.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department efficiency.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and escalate issues to supervisor.
