Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT exams, optimize image quality, and maintain patient safety. You will operate CT equipment, ensure patient prep and comfort, and document results in RIS/PACS.

Responsibilities include applying ALARA principles, verifying orders, and communicating clearly with patients using AIDET techniques while upholding regulatory standards and delivering quality imaging services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum one year of radiology experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).

  • Perform CT exams per department guidelines, capturing diagnostic images with technical proficiency.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of rooms and equipment, report issues promptly.
  • Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure patient identification before procedures.
  • Communicate procedures clearly using AIDET, addressing patient questions and reducing anxiety.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout exams, including administering contrast and positioning patients correctly.
  • Review images for diagnostic quality, repeat or adjust as needed, and document accurately in RIS/PACS systems.
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and support department operations, including equipment maintenance and regulatory compliance.
