Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures following departmental guidelines, adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness, identify issues, and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Obtain clinical history, verify patient identity, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety using AIDET communication principles.
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy; administer contrast media using sterile techniques when needed.
  • Position patients correctly, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization; review images for quality, repeating exams if necessary.
  • Document procedures accurately in RIS/PACS systems; manage exam transfers and retrievals.
  • Monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and assist with life-support equipment and crash carts.
  • Organize workflows, support department operations, maintain compliance, and assist with clerical tasks.

Role Overview:

The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They work independently, operating imaging equipment, capturing diagnostic images, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
