Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures following department protocols, ensuring diagnostic quality while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to optimize image quality and minimize radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and rooms, report issues promptly, and adhere to infection control standards.
  • Obtain patient history, verify orders, and explain procedures clearly using AIDET to reduce anxiety.
  • Administer contrast and perform venipuncture using sterile techniques when required.
  • Position patients accurately, apply shielding, and review images for diagnostic acceptability, repeating scans as needed.
  • Document procedures accurately in RIS/PACS, ensuring proper study finalization and file transfers.
  • Monitor patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and maintain life-support equipment.
  • Assist in daily workflow organization, support departmental operations, and ensure regulatory compliance.
