Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Huntsville, AL, seeks aMechanical/Fluid Engineer to design high-pressure gas and cryogenic systems for test facilities. You will develop process architecture, create test fixtures, and oversee fabrication, installation, and commissioning with travel up to 25% for support across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years (Level III) or 3+ years (Level II) of industry experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in fluid analysis and piping design.
• In-depth knowledge of fluid system components (valves, regulators, pumps) for cryogenics and propellants.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC.
• Experience with Bentley AutoPipe, CAESAR, and AFT Arrow/Fathom or equivalent software.
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own the design of high-pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems, including process architecture.
• Design mechanical test fixtures and structural supports.
• Conduct HAZOP for fluid systems.
• Manage suppliers, coordinating cost, schedule, and technical design requirements.
• Provide remote and on-site support during fabrication, installation, and start-up of new facilities.
• Prepare comprehensive project plans including budget and schedule.
• Coordinate with customers to refine project scope and requirements.
• Mentor newer engineers and perform peer reviews.
