Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Cryogenic Responsible Engineer to support model and drawing work for cryogenic propellant management hardware. You will generate Creo models and drawings for valves, manifolds, tubing, and pressure vessels, while ensuring GD&T and PMI compliance.

The role covers the full design lifecycle, from definition to release, with collaboration across internal/external suppliers and participation in design reviews. Relocation is provided; travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area.
  • 5+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components.
  • Experience supporting the development, integration, or certification of aerospace systems for flight.
  • Experience with fluid/gas components (i.e., solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation).
  • Experience with Cryogenic Fluid Management techniques and technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Creo Parametric for parts, assemblies, weldments, and drawings.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience with formal CM/release processes (CN, ECO, ECN).
  • Solid grasp of manufacturing materials, processes, and tolerance/stack-up analysis for manufacturable drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Work on complex cryogenic subsystems and components as part of the Zero-g Propellant Management Product Team.
  • Support hardware ownership from definition through delivery, contributing to design, verification, and integration activities.
  • Track internal and external procurements and hardware dependencies to support subsystem delivery schedules.
  • Contribute to a wide range of fluids propulsion design tasks, including trade studies, component design/integration, and analysis.
  • Participate in internal and external cryogenic technology development meetings.
  • Develop, modify, and release Creo models, assemblies, and drawings for cryogenic hardware (valves, manifolds, tubing, vessels).
  • Generate fabrication and assembly drawings per drafting standards and GD&T requirements.
  • Apply Model Based Definition and PMI on models where required.
  • Follow Windchill configuration management; maintain product data and conduct releases.
  • Create Interface Control Models/Drawings for cryogenic fluid hardware.
  • Deliver geometry to analysis teams for FE models.
  • Support hardware drawing release, manufacturing plans, and vehicle integration.
  • Perform model/drawing checks and participate in design reviews.
