Job summary

IL MAKIAGE is seeking a Retention Manager in New York to own end-to-end email and SMS campaigns. You will manage the full lifecycle—from concept and merchandising calendar alignment through creative briefing, build, QA, and deployment.

You’ll lead the creative and content production pipeline to ensure the right message reaches the right customer on time, every time. You will lead campaign execution, QA, and operational excellence while partnering with lifecycle and acquisition to translate

Qualifications

• 3-7 years in CRM/email marketing operations, ideally in DTC ecommerce or beauty/CPG.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise ESPs: Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable, Sailthru.
• Strong project management instincts with calendars, dependencies and deadlines.
• Experience managing creative teams or production workflows.
• Detail-oriented to catch issues before shipping.
• Comfortable with high send volume and fast-moving calendars.
• Prefers process over heroics and builds preventive systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the full campaign lifecycle from concept through deployment for prospect and customer audiences.
• Build, schedule, QA, and monitor all email and SMS sends across the CRM platform.
• Maintain send calendar discipline with correct segmentation, content, and suppression logic.
• Partner with lifecycle and acquisition leads to translate priorities into campaigns.
• Own the retention merchandising calendar: launches, seasonal pushes, evergreen sends.
• Align email/SMS calendar with broader marketing and product timelines.
• Manage send cadence to balance revenue goals with subscriber health.
• Lead creative production: briefing, reviewing, approving email/SMS assets.
• Manage creative teams and external resources; maintain workflows and quality.
• Establish SOPs, checklists, and runbooks for campaign execution.
• QA all outbound sends: links, rendering, segmentation, dynamic content.
