Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) in Ohio. The role involves caring for patients with congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA and sepsis, performing EKG interpretation, and assisting with high-level bedside procedures in a high-acuity environment.

The unit operates with a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, rotating shifts, and rotating weekends/holidays. Sign-on bonuses are available for experienced RNs and new graduates meeting criteria.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West).
• Care for patients with CHF, COPD, DKA, and sepsis.
• Interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac status.
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies).
• Collaborate with PCNAs, nurse interns, providers, PT and OT.
