Job summary

MetroHealth in Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West). The unit has 24 beds with a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and advanced telemetry monitoring.

You will perform EKG interpretation, central line care, and assist with bedside procedures, while delivering high-quality care to patients with CHF, COPD, DKA, and sepsis. Shift is 7a–7p with rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or program seeking accreditation.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care on the Critical Care Step-Down Unit (7 West).
• Interpret EKGs and manage telemetry, ventilator/airway support as needed.
• Perform central line care and assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies).
• Coordinate with PCTs, interns and providers to ensure patient safety and timely care.
