Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West) at the Main Campus. The role involves direct patient care for cardiac, pulmonary and complex post-op patients on a 14-bed unit with rotating shifts and on-call coverage as needed.

The ideal candidate will have Ohio RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and 1 year of RN experience for PRN roles. Cooperation with a multidisciplinary team and strong clinical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 14-bed Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West).
• Monitor and interpret patient telemetry and vital signs.
• Assist with bedside procedures and emergency interventions as needed.
• Coordinate care with PCNAs, interns, providers, PT, and OT.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and effective delegation and time management.
