Job summary

PermiaCare in Odessa, TX is seeking a Crisis Response Specialist to handle evening, weekend, and holiday crisis calls from law enforcement, ERs, and the crisis hotline. You will assess presenting issues, gather medical history, initiate crisis interventions, and facilitate entrance into crisis respite facilities when needed.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, adherence to Medicaid/HIPAA, and collaboration with law enforcement, hospitals, and the judiciary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology or related fields.
• QMHP certification must be obtained within 6 months.
• One year of experience in mental health preferred.
• Must maintain a Texas driver's license and auto insurance; driving record must meet PermiaCare’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve on crisis rotation as scheduled.
• Respond by phone to crisis calls within 10 minutes.
• Provide face-to-face responses within 1 hour when indicated.
• Provide least restrictive intervention and complete appropriate documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate service logs.
