Job summary

PermiaCare seeks a Crisis Response Specialist to respond to daytime mental health crisis calls from law enforcement, ER, and the crisis hotline. You will assess presenting issues, gather history, initiate crisis interventions, and guide individuals to appropriate services.

The role requires independent work with limited supervision, driving as needed, and collaboration with law enforcement and healthcare partners. Sign-on bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; 30 hours in related fields accepted.
• At least 1 year of mental health experience preferred.
• Must obtain QMHP certification within 6 months.
• Texas driver's license and auto liability insurance required.
• Pass criminal history/background checks and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Respond by phone to crisis calls within 10 minutes.
• Face-to-face responses within 1 hour when indicated.
• Provide least-restrictive intervention and appropriate crisis services.
• File Emergency Detention applications correctly.
• Maintain documentation in EHR and Medicaid compliance.
