Job summary

Connections Health Solutions in Virginia is hiring a Unit Coordinator to provide administrative and clerical support for clinical services, overseeing registration, insurance verification, phones, and unit census with clinical staff.

You’ll ensure patient flow, maintain records in the EHR, assist with transfers and discharges, and uphold compassionate, professional service in a fast-paced crisis-care environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of exceptional service customer service-oriented work experience.
• 3 years of clerical experience.
• Current Notary or ability to become a notary within the first 90 days.
• State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance.
• Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check.
• Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search.

Responsibilities

• Registers individuals for services, including verification of Medicaid eligibility, enrollment with a health plan, and/or confirmation of other third-party insurers.
• Works collaboratively with the clinical team and communicates any concerns regarding an individual's presentation to the appropriate discipline.
• Greets and receives visitors; maintains security and records; issues visitor badges.
• Oversee episode of care in electronic health record with accuracy and efficiency; coordinate discharges.
• Obtains clinical records; communicates information to physicians, nurses and clinical team; coordinates transfers.
• Assists with ECO/TDO process; liaison to departments; key communication link between disciplines.
