Job summary

Southwest Heritage Bank is seeking a Full-Time Credit Underwriter in Scottsdale, AZ. The role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and underwriting credit information for current and potential customers to ensure lending aligns with the Bank’s standards.

The CU will solicit and coordinate loan closings (SBA, CRE, and CBL), monitor portfolio risk, and perform annual reviews. Strong knowledge of lending concepts and government loan programs is important.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in business; 3-5 years of banking experience and/or training.
• Advanced knowledge of SBA/USDA loan programs is preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to document rationale.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes financial data and tax returns for credit decisions.
• Prepares credit presentations and annual reviews for portfolio customers.
• Monitors loan portfolio for risk, ensures renewals and compliance with loan agreements.
• Collaborates with Lenders and Loan Operations to manage loan pipeline and closings.
• May manage a portfolio and represent the Bank in community functions.
