Job summary

OneAZ Credit Union's Corporate Office in Phoenix seeks a Senior Commercial Loan Underwriter to underwrite, structure, and monitor complex credit relationships across CRE, term loans, lines of credit, and SBA lending.

You will evaluate risk, prepare credit memorandums, mentor junior staff, and ensure adherence to lending standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. This role centers on sound credit decisions and portfolio quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 5-8 years of progressive commercial lending or underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting CRE, C&I loans, term loans, lines of credit and SBA lending.
• Advanced cash flow analysis, projections, ratios, collateral evaluation, and risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites and analyzes complex commercial credit relationships across multiple products.
• Collaborates with Commercial Loan Officers to obtain documents and structure transactions.
• Evaluates financials to determine creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
• Prepares detailed credit memorandums and recommends terms within policy.
• Reviews loan requests within delegated authority and supports committee presentations.
• Mentors underwriters and analysts to ensure accuracy and policy adherence.
• Ensures compliance with BSA/AML, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, and regulatory requirements.
