Job summary

Southwest Heritage Bank is seeking a Credit Underwriter in Scottsdale, AZ to supervise and analyze credit information for current and potential customers. You will prepare credit presentations, monitor portfolio risk, and coordinate loan closings for SBA, CRE, and commercial loans.

The role requires strong knowledge of lending concepts, regulatory compliance, and the ability to work with lenders and customers to structure prudent financing solutions while maintaining bank policy and risk

Qualifications

• BS/BA in business; 3–5 years of banking experience.
• Extensive experience in all lending activities, terminology, products and services.
• Knowledge of SBA programs and USDA loan programs.

Responsibilities

• Gathers data from customers and prospects, analyzes financial information including financial statements and tax returns; requests additional information as needed.
• Prepares Credit Presentations on new money requests and annual reviews; supports loan pipeline management.
• Develops accurate risk ratings on loan relationships and monitors portfolio for signs of stress.
• Ensures renewals and annual reviews are completed timely to avoid past-due issues.
• Coordinates processing and closing of SBA, CRE, and commercial loans with Lenders and Loan Operations.
• Keeps informed of market trends and adheres to lending policies and procedures.
