Job summary

Valley Bank in Florida is seeking an experienced Credit Underwriter to support underwriting, approval and portfolio management for commercial loans. You will review credit packages, underwrite complex requests and coordinate with loan officers and staff to complete credit documents.

The role requires strong knowledge of credit underwriting, reporting, and compliance with Regulation B, BSA/EDD procedures, and related credit policies. Exempt full-time position with competitive rewards.

Responsibilities

• Proactively communicates with Loan Officers and Credit Portfolio Managers during underwriting, approval and portfolio management processes.
• Review and circulate credit packages and modifications for approval. Ensure packages are updated as required by approvers.
• Underwrite complex new loan requests and modifications.
• Coordinate with Commercial Loan Officers, Loan Officer Assistants and Direct Reports to complete credit packages.
• Completes performance evaluations, reviews and approves timecards for direct reports.
• Prepare effective packages for credit approval circulation and present to required credit authority levels.
• Obtain and monitor loan portfolio reports such as Maturing Loans, Past-Due Loans, Annual Reviews and assist lenders with action plans.
• Assure credits are accurately risk rated and properly monitored and reported.
• Adhere to Regulation B Adverse Action Procedures.
• Create and maintain current BSA Information; adhere to watch list and EDD procedures.
• Manage covenants, borrowing bases, A-R Ageing for accounts.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly CLMR reports.
• Advise lenders on Credit Policy and related Procedures/Forms.
• Attend annual site visits, loan closings and related tasks.
