Job summary

Valley Bank is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to monitor the health of an assigned loan portfolio and support underwriting for new and existing credits with low to moderate complexity. The role focuses on Business Banking C&I clients with annual revenues of $5M–$25M and typical loan sizes under $5M.

You will validate financial statements, collateral, and industry data, and prepare underwriting packages for credit authority. Team collaboration and timely reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial lending environment in a credit-oriented and underwriting position.
• Bachelor’s degree and completion of a formal credit training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor portfolio health and compliance with loan covenants and reporting.
• Analyze financial statements, collateral, and industry data to support underwriting decisions.
• Ensure credits are risk rated and properly monitored and reported.
• Prepare quarterly portfolio analysis and credit presentations for approval.
• Underwrite new transactions and renewals; participate in client and internal discussions.
• Perform due diligence and present credit requests to authority levels.
