Job summary

Adventist Health in Los Angeles is seeking a credentialing specialist to manage core functions of the credentialing lifecycle, including initial appointments, reappointments, data collection, primary source verification, privileging, and file maintenance. The role supports onboarding, maintains the medical staff database, and upholds strict confidentiality.

You will stay current with bylaws and regulatory requirements and perform other job‑related duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience: Preferred
  • Two years' experience in a medical staff services department or other related setting: Preferred
  • Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification: Required

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned credentialing functions for medical and allied health staff, including initial appointments, reappointments, privileging, and focused professional practice evaluations (FPPE)/proctoring.
  • Ensures credential files are accurate, complete, error‑free, and processed within established timelines.
  • Supports provider onboarding by coordinating computer access, required training, orientation, and badging.
  • Maintains current knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, hospital policies, and applicable regulatory agency requirements.
  • Assists with maintaining the medical staff database.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all medical staff information and credentialing records.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
