Credentials Coordinator
Contract – In‑Office, Los Angeles, CA, United States
Day Shift – 7:30–4 or 8:00–4:30, Monday–Friday; 13 weeks, 40 hours. Position located in the North Building at White Memorial Hospital, first floor.
Required experience: Minimum 3 years in medical staff credentialing in an acute care/hospital setting; familiarity with Joint Commission standards. CPCS/CPMSM certification preferred, not required.
Core responsibilities include credentialing lifecycle tasks: initial appointments, reappointments, data collection, primary source verification, privileging, and file maintenance.
Position Requirements
- High school education or GED – preferred
- Associate’s or Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience – preferred
- Two years' experience in a medical staff services department or related setting – preferred
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification – required
Essential Functions
- Engage in all assigned credentialing functions for medical and allied health staff, including appointment, reappointment, privileging, and professional practice evaluations/proctoring.
- Ensure credentials files are error‑free, accurate, complete, and processed in a timely manner.
- Support providers during onboarding, including computer access, training, orientation, and badging.
- Maintain current knowledge of medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, hospital policies, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the medical staff database and uphold strict confidentiality of all medical staff matters.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
