Job summary

Michaels in Goldsboro, NC is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events, including children's birthday parties, crafting engaging experiences for guests. You will coordinate activities, assist customers, and ensure smooth checkout and store operations while upholding brand standards.

You will also handle client communication, scheduling, paperwork, and day-of event support, balancing creativity with safety and courtesy to deliver a fun, stress-free shopping environment.

• Excellent people skills and ability to engage guests of all ages.
• Experience planning or facilitating children’s events is preferred.
• Strong communication, written and verbal, with customers and team members.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Creative problem-solving and adaptability to changing event needs.
• Retail or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events (including children’s parties) in the Michaels store.
• Engage with clients of all ages and create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide participants through craft projects during events.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to meet company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members; manage emails and calls.
• Handle administrative tasks and paperwork; adjust plans per client feedback.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and adherence to SOPs and store policies.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling/production; support store operations and recovery.
