Job summary

Michaels in Garner, NC is seeking an energetic Store Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children’s birthdays, crafting activities, and special sessions. You will engage customers, demonstrate projects, and guide participants while delivering a fast, friendly checkout experience.

You’ll manage on-site logistics, coordinate with the store team, and handle emails and calls to keep events running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience planning children’s events and parties.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Retail or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s parties and crafts.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and teach craft projects; lead activities such as face painting.
• Coordinate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork to support events.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.
• Cross train in Custom Framing selling and production; participate in daily store cleanliness.
