Job summary

Michaels Stores in Asheville, NC seeks an energetic Events Coordinator to plan and coordinate store events, including children’s parties and craft classes. You will engage customers, help shoppers, and support checkout processes while ensuring a fun, safe, and organized environment.

You will also assist with omni-channel processes (BOPIS/SFS), stock, merchandising, and store recovery tasks, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience required
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events
• Excellent communication skills including written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in craft projects and perform face painting and activities
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
• Communicate events with clients and store team members
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold store cleanliness and safety standards
