Job summary

SpartanNash in Petoskey, MI is hiring a Meat Cutter to properly cut all types of meats and prepare related products according to department standards. You will cut, weigh, and prepare steaks, chops, and other cuts while following recipes for grinding and sausage making.

The role involves maintaining shelves, assisting customers with product knowledge, and adhering to PPE and food safety guidelines in a retail environment. Prior meat-cutting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Prior experience in a Meat Cutter role, or as an Apprentice, strongly preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh meats into various cuts for display and sale.
• Prepare value-added products per guidelines, including sausage preparation.
• Cut, trim, bone corpse sections and prime cuts for cooking purposes.
• Follow recipes to grind, tray meats and produce sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap and bag meat products per guidelines.
