Job summary

SpartanNash in Ada, Michigan is seeking a Meat Cutter to cut and weigh steaks, chops and sausage, following recipes and department standards to prepare quality products for store shelves and displays.

You will rotate stock, price and wrap products, assist customers with product knowledge, and maintain a clean, safe department while following PPE and food safety guidelines. A high school diploma or GED and 1 year retail experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail oriented
• Suggestive selling knowledge of products
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products per established guidelines.
• Cut, trim and bone carcass sections or prime cuts to cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage and other products.
• Price, date, wrap and/or bag meat products per established guidelines.
• Rotate and merchandise shelves, cases and displays.
• Notify the manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well stocked department.
