Job summary

The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) in Abilene, TX seeks a Human Services Technician to assist CPS casework, provide transportation, supervise visits, and perform administrative tasks. You will coordinate documentation, data entry in IMPACT, and calendar management for multiple staff.

Responsibilities include travel up to 75%, interacting with families and partners, and ensuring accurate records and compliance with policy.

Qualifications

• Requires high school graduation or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year full-time social services, clerical, secretarial, administrative support, general office, or FPS experience.
• Substitutions: Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation for clients to and from appointments as requested by caseworkers and/or Unit Supervisor.
• Observes and/or supervises parent and child visits.
• Completes appropriate forms and documentation concerning client contact including data entry into IMPACT and other agency systems.
• Maintains outgoing paper and/or electronic appointment calendar for scheduling requests by caseworkers/supervisor.
• Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, faxing, copying, answering/receiving calls.
• Promotes and demonstrates respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.
• Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy.
