Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. seeks a disciplined physician to provide primary care to detainees, diagnose illnesses, and coordinate treatment within a correctional setting.

Responsibilities include managing medical program activities, maintaining records in an Electronic Health Records system, and collaborating with hospital teams. A US medical degree and active state license are required, with DEA/DPS registration and U.S. residency completion preferred.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and state licensure required.
• U.S.-based residency completed.
• Current DEA and DPS registration.
• Ability to provide independent, critical thinking and collaborate with subspecialists.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat detainees to ensure injury care and disease management.
• Manage medical program activities and liaise with correctional officials.
• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage and maintain health records with EHR.
• Prescribe medications and monitor treatment and safety across patient care.
