Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is hiring a full-time Physician to serve detainees within a correctional facility in Colorado. The role requires diagnosing illnesses, managing overall patient care, and coordinating with specialist teams.

The Physician will maintain medical records and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and privacy laws. This position offers on-site work, 40 hours per week, and involvement with hospital-level clinical standards and continuing medical education requirements.

Qualifications

• Medical doctor licensed in the state where the facility is located.
• Board certified/eligible in primary care or related field preferred.
• Two years of direct work experience as a Physician.
• Completion of a US-based residency program required.
• Current DEA and D.P.S. Certificate of Registration.
• Professional license must remain on file at the facility.
• Ability to provide independent clinical thinking and work with specialists.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat detainees to ensure proper injury care and disease management.
• Provide medical treatment and order studies and ancillary services as needed.
• Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment plans.
• Document health records clearly, including electronic health records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with health laws.
