Job summary

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited school and licensed to practice in the state.
• Two years of direct work experience as a Physician.
• Completion of a U.S.-based residency program.
• Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.
• Professional license must remain on file at the facility.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat detainees to ensure proper injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
• Provide medical treatment and order studies, tests and ancillary services.
• Prescribe medications and review ongoing cases requiring medical/pharmaceutical attention.
• Discuss potential side effects and verify allergy information before prescribing.
• Provide lifestyle and diet advice to improve health.
• Maintain clear health records and use Electronic Health Records.
• Collaborate with hospital teams and other health professionals.
• Continue professional development through CME and training.
