Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions is seeking a board-certified or eligible physician to provide primary care within detention facilities. You will diagnose and manage a wide range of illnesses, coordinate with specialists, and ensure timely medical records and compliance with standards.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, experience in internal medicine, and the ability to collaborate with correctional staff and healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• Medical degree in medicine and state license required.
• Two years of direct work experience as a physician.
• Completion of a U.S.-based residency program required.
• Current DEA and D.P.S. Certificate of Registration.
• Collaborate with subspecialists and medical staff; knowledge of pharmacology.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat detainees to ensure injury care, disease prevention and recovery.
• Provide medical treatment and order studies, tests and services.
• Prescribe medications and monitor ongoing cases with education on vaccines.
• Maintain confidential health records and comply with privacy laws.
• Coordinate with hospital teams and perform continuing medical education.
