Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook I to prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for all meal periods and events in a fast-paced kitchen. You will follow Sodexo’s culinary standards for quality and safety, ensuring accurate production, sanitation, and a clean workstation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current standards and guidelines to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, cooking, and serving items.
• Estimate production needs and requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
• Walk and move around the kitchen for extended periods.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
