Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook to prepare, portion and present hot and cold foods for all meal periods and events. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring safety, quality and consistency while maintaining a clean workstation.

Responsibilities include following recipes, estimating production, and assisting with inventory. Benefits and shifts are provided, with a focus on teamwork and food safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with federal, state and corporate standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving a variety of foods.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other movement.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts (may exceed 8 hours).
• Lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive motions and maintain safety and sanitation standards.
