Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to work in a Southwest Atlanta metropolitan manufacturing facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, programming, and integrating automation systems in an Allen-Bradley PLC environment.

Responsibilities include electrical troubleshooting, machine programming modifications, and leading manufacturing projects from initiation to completion to improve safety, efficiency, and uptime.

Qualifications

• Four years of technical education or degree, or two years of technical education with related work experience or training.
• Prefer at least 5 years as a controls engineer, but will consider at least 2 years as a controls engineer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with Maintenance, Toolroom, Manufacturing Engineering, Technology Team, and Production to support operations and continuous improvement.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting on production equipment from 24V control circuits to 480V circuits, diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Support manufacturing projects by providing controls engineering expertise including electrical circuit design, PLC/HMI programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Lead projects by coordinating activities, timelines, and requirements with internal departments, external contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports and documentation related to controls engineering activities, including FAT and energy/process optimization.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and internal EHS standards.
