Job summary

American Global seeks a skilled Contractual Risk Manager to join our Infrastructure team. You will analyze major construction and infrastructure contracts, advise clients on risk allocation, and support negotiations across design-build and P3 projects.

Collaborating with legal, insurance, and surety professionals, you will evaluate exposures, craft risk-mitigating strategies, and contribute to client strategy and thought leadership as you grow in the role.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of contract analysis, negotiation, indemnification, and risk allocation within construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex legal, contractual, and insurance concepts.
• Collaborative and consultative approach across legal, construction, insurance, surety, and risk management disciplines.
• Ability to identify complex contractual exposures and translate legal concepts into practical business considerations.
• Experience supporting contract negotiations and advising clients on risk allocation and insurance terms.

Responsibilities

• Contractual Risk Analysis: Analyze major construction and infrastructure agreements focusing on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance requirements, and provisions.
• Contract Negotiation & Client Advisory: Support clients during negotiations by identifying exposures and providing guidance on risk allocation and terms.
• Insurance & Risk Advisory: Develop risk management and insurance strategies; contribute to risk reports.
• Insurance Policy Analysis: Evaluate coverages, exclusions, limitations, and historical handling of claims.
• Cross-Functional Risk Guidance: Bridge between contractors, legal teams, and insurers to translate provisions into practical risk considerations.
• Project Agreement Review: Review joint venture, design, and subcontractor agreements for indemnities and liability allocation.
• Business Development & Growth: Collaborate on client strategies and growth opportunities through research and industry trends.
