Job summary

American Global seeks a Contractual Risk Manager to join the Infrastructure team. You will analyze contractual risk across major construction projects and advise on risk allocation, indemnities, and insurance terms.

You will collaborate with contractors, legal and insurance professionals to develop practical risk management strategies, review project documents, and support client negotiations. This role offers growth across North American projects.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal qualification.
• Proven legal experience in construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
• Deep knowledge of contract analysis, negotiation, indemnification, and risk allocation.

Responsibilities

• Contractual Risk Analysis: analyze major construction and infrastructure agreements focusing on risk allocation and indemnities.
• Contract Negotiation & Client Advisory: support clients during negotiations with guidance on risk allocation and insurance terms.
• Insurance & Risk Advisory: evaluate project risk profiles and develop risk management and insurance strategies.
• Insurance Policy Analysis: review coverages, exclusions, and gaps in relation to contract terms.
• Cross-Functional Risk Guidance: translate complex provisions for contractors, legal teams, and insurers.
• Project Agreement Review: assess joint venture, design, and subcontractor agreements for risk allocation.
• Business Development & Growth: assist on client strategy and relationships through research-led insights.
• Thought Leadership: contribute to articles and industry events to share expertise.
