Job summary

American Global, a leading insurance and surety brokerage, seeks a Contractual Risk Manager to join our Infrastructure team. You will analyze major construction contracts, focusing on risk allocation, indemnities, and insurance terms.

You will collaborate with contractors, legal teams, and insurance professionals to evaluate risk and support negotiations, contributing to risk reports and strategy development across heavy civil, buildings, data centers, and water projects.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal qualification.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
• Ability to translate complex contractual provisions into business terms.
• Strong written and verbal communication across audiences.
• Collaborative approach across legal, construction, insurance, and risk management disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze major construction and infrastructure agreements with focus on risk allocation and indemnification.
• Support contract negotiations by identifying exposures and advising on risk allocation and insurance terms.
• Evaluate project risk profiles to develop risk management and insurance strategies.
• Review insurance coverages, exclusions, and limits with clients and colleagues.
• Bridge contractors, legal teams, and insurance professionals to mitigate exposure.
• Review joint venture agreements, design agreements, subcontractor agreements for indemnities and liability allocation.
• Support client and business development strategies using research and market trends.
