Job summary

American Global is seeking a Contractual Risk Manager to join the Infrastructure team. You will analyze contractual risk across major construction projects, including design-build and P3 arrangements, and advise on risk allocation, indemnities, and insurance terms.

You will collaborate with contractors, legal teams, and insurance professionals to develop practical risk management strategies, review project agreements, and support business development as you grow in the role.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal qualification.
• Proven relevant legal experience within construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
• Deep knowledge of contract analysis, negotiation, indemnification, and risk allocation.

Responsibilities

• Support contract negotiations by identifying exposures and advising on risk allocation, indemnities, and insurance terms.
• Evaluate project risk profiles and craft risk management and insurance strategies for complex contracts.
• Assess insurance coverages, exclusions, and uncertainties and advise on mitigating exposures with surety or coverage solutions.
• Bridge contractors, legal teams, and insurers to translate complex provisions into practical risk guidance.
• Review joint venture, design, and subcontractor agreements with emphasis on indemnities and liability allocation.
• Support client relationship building, market research, and opportunities for practice growth.
