United Future seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Washington DC on Georgia Ave NW. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, for an initial 3-month duration with potential conversion to a permanent role.

You will perform blood draws, labeling, centrifugation, and specimen handling while ensuring compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations. Requires state phlebotomy certification and relevant experience.

Qualifikationen

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Aufgaben

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrates technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Fully understands all physicians' orders.
• Matches requisitions to specimen tubes, labels, centrifuges, splits and freezes specimens as required.
• Checks test requisitions and computer labels for accuracy.
• Packages specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at required temperatures and maintains specimen integrity for transport.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay laboratory results to inquiries.
